Paul and I are looking for a fourth person to go in on SCSU season hockey tickets. We currently have 4 seats in Section 103, Row 3, but only 3 people to sit in the seats. We don't want to go down to only 3 seats. We also don't want to pay for the fourth seat and hope we can sell them on a game by game basis, b/c we'd never be able to sell some of them. If you're interested, let me (or Paul) know by Friday, July 17. It only costs $375 for a whole season of fun (and guaranteed seats for the big games and first round of the playoffs if they get home ice).

I can't believe my last post was March 31. Here's some of what's been going on since then and some things that are coming up in my boring little life.
**In May, Paul and I got invited to play in the Williams trivia contest. We ended up winning by 1.5 points. Our prize for winning: running the contest next January. We've been slowing working at thinking about questions for the contest. It will be crazy trying to run the contest as it will be a month before the KVSC contest.
**Speaking of KVSC, Paul is volunteering there. He has a Sunday morning 2-6 shift. So, if you're awake between 2 and 6 am on a Sunday morning, tune into 88.1 FM and listen to him. For those not in the St. Cloud area, I believe they stream their broadcast. They do during trivia weekend.
**We are in a slow time in band right now. We had another Sousa concert in May and also the traditional too long and boring Memorial Day deal at the VA. We also played a concert with the Spalt, Germany band. Spalt is St. Cloud's sister city and the band along with delegates from the city of Spalt came to St. Cloud this year. Next year the band is planning a trip to Germany and we'll play a couple of concerts in Spalt. I'm not 100% sure I'll go, but I'm leaning more and more towards going. The band's next concert is the annual July 4th concert in Hester Park. After that, we have concerts every Thursday night in Barden Park for about 6 weeks.
**We had a successful game day on June 6. The basement was full of people having fun. We eventually had to kick people out at 11 pm so Paul could take a nap before his shift at KVSC.
**Last weekend I went to Wisconsin with Paul's family for a weekend of boating, canoeing and biking. It was lots of fun and the "cabin" was really nice. I didn't get much sleep, though. The bed was too soft and squishy and the rooms were not very sound proof and the stairs outside our bedroom squeaked whenever you walked on them. We toured the Leinenkugel's brewery and I actually tried a little beer.
**Our basement is still not done. Paul doesn't want to buy carpet until the economy is better and there isn't a threat of him losing his job. He wants to make sure we have enough in savings to get by. Boo! I want the basement done. It's been too long already.
**Paul and I are going to the No Doubt concert in July. That should be fun.
**Paul and I are planning a trip to Denver this summer. We are going to drive there with another couple. We plan on stopping at the Black Hills on the way. The main reason we're going is to go to a Rockies game. We got a great deal on the tickets and we're staying at an extended stay hotel that we got a good deal on, too.
I think that's about it. I should think about getting supper. Paul is at Twins games this weekend, so I have the house to myself tonight and tomorrow. He should be home by the time I come home from a party tomorrow night.

I just spent 45 minutes shovelling heavy, wet snow from just the end of my driveway so I could park my car in the garage. I didn't want to shovel at all. I was just going to let the snow melt away. (The majority of the driveway is still covered in snow right now.) The stupid city ruined my plans. They almost never plow my road during the day. In fact, many times this winter I have driven on plowed roads on my way home from work only to find that my road had not been plowed. This doesn't really bother me, because then there is no plow leftovers to shovel when I get home and Paul gets to shovel them the next morning after the plows go through overnight. So why did the city decide to plow during the day today???
I'm not happy and I'm in pain.

I've posted the answers to the movie quotes meme... See below
For the last 3 years my co-worker, Jeanne, and I have been having fun with the Heller Law Firm magnets that come with our phone books. I finally was able to get pictures of them. Enjoy!

The last one is a little blurry...
Oh, and for those weather type folks out there... 3 to 6 inches my ass!! Thankfully, we didn't get any snow at all except a dusting. : )

Paul and I ordered window treatments for the whole house last night. I'm so excited. The basement is almost done! We went with Bali soft vertical blinds for the patio door and Hunter Douglas modern Roman shades for the rest of the house. Here is an example of each.

The window treatments should be installed within a month!

I can see the light at the end of the long tunnel. We put the last coat of polyurathane on the last 6 pieces of trim yesterday. Paul was going to call the guy to install the trim today. After the trim is installed, we'll get window treatments for the entire house. Then all that's left in the basement is the carpet, and Paul is thinking about waiting until after trivia to do that. Gotta make the 2 year project last 5 years I guess...

I got this from
Dear
I don't really know how to tell you this, but I dislike you. I think I realized it when I quoted Santa in your camping car and I saw you sit on the crazy monk. I'm sure you're middle-class enough to understand that Extreme Home Makeover sucks. I'm returning the couch cushions to you, but I'll keep your photo as a memory. You should also know that I get sick when I think of the apartment building.
Good luck on your short-term leave from jail,
Fredchikk
